Set forward in this policy are the following definitions:

  • "Us", "We" or "Our" or plurals thereof will refer to DayViewer Ltd.
  • "Website" will refer to www.dayviewer.com
  • "You" or "your" or plurals thereof will refer to Registered Users of www.dayviewer.com
  • "PII" will refer to Personally Identifiable Information
  • "Non-PII" will refer to non- Personally Identifiable Information

DayViewer General Privacy Statement

We are very focussed on protecting personal information and privacy, it is one of the reasons for the conception of DayViewer as you may wish to keep certain information from certain contacts or groups of contacts. On registration the default privacy settings are set to such that only your name, sex and country is visible to other DayViewer users who may be looking to add you to their contacts list. On acceptance of the new contact then you are free to adjust the privacy level accordingly. We allow you to easily to set Business Contacts from Personal Contacts with a simple and intuitive Privacy Control System.

Information Collected

Registration: On registration we collect the following information required for registration:

  • EMAIL Address: (this will be required to receive messages from DayViewer and to login to your account)
  • PASSWORD: (encrypted so not visible to us, but you will need to remember this to access your account)
  • FULL NAME: The name most people know you by, not a nickname or other false name
  • SEX: Male or Female
  • BIRTHDATE: Date of birth (used to determine user age and any birthday features)
  • MOBILE No, Address, City and State: not required on signup, but may be useful for some of your contacts set in your privacy control who can view this information.
  • POSTCODE: Also known as Zipcode, the postcode is used to help determine your locality to local services and businesses who sign up to use the business feature of DayViewer. Businesses who set up a DayViewer Business Account will never see your address or postcode through our website.

DayViewer, or third parties acting on DayViewer's behalf (these third parties will be carefully selected to ensure they follow the same strict code of conduct as us on DayViewers user data and will be under contract to do so if they are selected as a service provider for us), routinely logs Non-Personally Identifiable Information that is automatically generated when all users visit or use DayViewer website, as a by-product of the user's activities ("Web Log Data"). This information includes, but is not limited to, Internet protocol ("IP") header information that is automatically passed between a user's computer and the DayViewer site, such as the computer's IP address, the browser being used at the time, and the URL of the webpage on the DayViewer website that the browser requested.

Some non Personally Identifiable (non-PI) data may be stored on your computer in the form of a "cookie" a cookie is a common feature on most interactive websites which usually holds some information about your setup for use with that website. DayViewer may hold some non-PI information in a cookie to save your user settings and monitor website usage information for statistical information purposes only.

Profile Information & Privacy Settings

The DayViewer profile allows you to set your contact information and other PI and non PI information as required with your contacts list. Some of this information is contact information which may be used by other users in your contact list externally of the DayViewer website i.e. IM, phone numbers, and emails. It is completely at your discretion who you choose may view this information and our unique easy to set Privacy System allows for you to set will allow you to organize your contacts into groups and set the privacy level by group ensuring that it is simple for you to decide who can view your personal information and the level of interactivity within DayViewer.

Third Parties

DayViewer uses third parties to assist us in delivering parts of services such as payment and relevant advertising to you. We may share portions of Your Data with these third parties only up to the extent necessary for them to provide these services. These companies are acting on DayViewer's behalf and are required, by contract with DayViewer, to keep this information confidential and are only authorized to use it for specific purposes. As described in more detail below, DayViewer may also provide access to Non-Personally Identifiable Information elements of Your Data to third parties who deliver targeted ads to you. DayViewer will not provide your Personally Identifiable Information to these advertisers.
